James H. Williams
James H. Williams is a seasoned sports journalist currently serving as a Los Angeles Sports Reporter for USA Today.
He currently covers some of Los Angeles’ notable athletes including Luka Dončić of the Lakers and Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers.
With over a decade of experience, he’s worked in several roles, including as an Assistant Digital Sports Editor, for the Southern 91News Group from 2013 to 2024. Williams knows how to produce written, social, and multimedia content. He’s also worked as a beat writer, covering UCLA football from 2019-2024 and covered non-sporting events like Coachella multiple times.
Williams graduated from Long Beach State University, where he was notably active, serving as NABJ co-president in 2018, and a co-host of a radio show at 22West Media’s on-campus station.
His skills extend to podcast editing and on-camera reporting.
He also started his journalism education at both Cerritos College (with Talon Marks) and Riverside City College (Viewpoints).
