More than 15,000 Cal State Long Beach undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in this year’s Commencement ceremonies May 15-17 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

With commencement right around the corner, soon-to-be Beach alumni have been celebrating with inspirational posts on social media.

Here’s a sampling of some of them:

“After much time and dedication. I officially have a bachelor’s degree in communications studies, minor in public relations and certificate in mediation. I don’t tend to share a lot, but this is something very special to me and a great accomplishment that I have worked hard for,” Cesar Romero said on Instagram.

Graduation is an important milestone where Beach graduates can close one chapter and open a brand-new chapter in their lives.

"These past four years have truly been amazing! Thank you to my family and friends for contributing to my success and happiness at 91����,” business marketing graduate Sheila Shariat said on Instagram. “I’m so excited to start this next chapter of my life and I will forever be grateful for the memories I’ve made at 91����.”

Joseph Valadez has experienced a life-changing educational journey. While at The Beach, he got involved in Project Rebound, a program that recruits and supports formerly incarcerated students looking to advance their education at 91����.

“There was a time when I was lost in my addiction for over 40 years,” Valadez said on Instagram. “But guess what, I'm getting ready to graduate with my Master of Social Work degree from 91����State University, Long Beach.”
