DSC Fellowships

At the Dream Success Center (DSC) we are grateful for our partners and donors who have made it possible for us to host several grant-funded fellowships and scholarships. On this page, you will find a list of our opportunities that are available to currently enrolled 91ÁÔÆæ students. The Dream Success Center's APID Fellowship Program is an educational and leadership development opportunity for students interested in exploring issues impacting Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi (APID) immigrant communities. Through mentorship, coursework, and project-based learning, fellows will strengthen their leadership skills while exploring topics related to educational equity, student success, and community engagement.

Fellows will:

  • Complete a student-designed educational project aligned with their academic, professional, or civic interests.
  • Receive mentorship from faculty and campus professionals.
  • Participate in a service leadership course focused on leadership, civic engagement, and reflection.
  • Explore higher education policies, research, and promising practices that support immigrant communities.
  • Engage in professional development and networking opportunities with campus and community partners.
  • Develop leadership, communication, critical thinking, and career readiness skills.

The APID Fellowship Program is a collaboration between the Dream Success Center, Asian American Studies, the Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi Resource Center, and AANHPI Initiatives. The fellowship is funded through the AANHPI Student Achievement Program and is designed to support students' academic, leadership, and professional development.

Programming Highlights & Conferences

Through the Dream Success Center’s APID Fellowship Program, fellows actively contribute to dynamic, culturally responsive programming and professional development opportunities. Signature events such as APID Cultural Welcome, APID Heritage Month, Immigrant Heritage Month, Our Plates, Our Stories, and Switch It Up create meaningful spaces for community building, storytelling, and cultural celebration. Fellows also engage in conference attendance and presentations to deepen their knowledge of student support, research, and higher education policy. Professional development experiences include the 91ÁÔÆæ Empowering Leaders Symposium, 91ÁÔÆæ AANHPI Convening, , and .

The Dream Success Center Graduate Fellowship is an educational and professional development opportunity for graduate students interested in exploring student affairs, educational equity, and student success in higher education. Through mentorship, applied learning, and project-based experiences, fellows will deepen their understanding of student support practices, research, data-informed decision-making, and higher education policies.

Fellows will:

  • Design and complete an educational project aligned with their academic, professional, or leadership interests.
  • Receive mentorship from Student Affairs professionals, faculty, and campus partners.
  • Explore research, assessment, and data-informed practices that promote student success.
  • Examine higher education policies and emerging issues affecting diverse student populations.
  • Participate in professional development, networking, and reflective learning opportunities.
  • Develop leadership, communication, critical thinking, and career readiness skills.

The fellowship is designed to support graduate students' academic, professional, and civic development while providing opportunities to connect theory, research, and practice in higher education.

Award Amount: Up to $3,000
Majors Preferred: SDHE, EESJ, MSW, Education, or related fields

The Dream Success Center Community Engagement Fellowship provides students in a service learning course or CA Dream Act-eligible students who qualify for with an opportunity to explore issues affecting immigrant communities through educational, leadership, and professional development experiences. Through mentorship and project-based learning, fellows will deepen their understanding of student success, community engagement, immigration-related issues, and higher education support services.

Fellows will:

  • Complete an educational project aligned with their academic, professional, or civic interests.
  • Explore research topics related to immigration, educational access, and resources available to undocumented and AB 540 students.
  • Participate in professional development and experiential learning opportunities focused on education, outreach, communications, and legal services.
  • Develop leadership, public speaking, communication, and community engagement skills.
  • Engage with campus and community partners to learn about collaborative approaches to supporting immigrant communities.
  • Participate in reflective learning activities that connect their experiences to their academic and career goals.

Through mentorship from Dream Success Center staff and campus partners, fellows will gain exposure to educational, legal, research, and community-based fields while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to become advocates and leaders within their communities. The fellowship is designed to support students' academic, professional, and civic development while 91ÁÔÆæawareness of issues impacting immigrant students and their families.
